Art School WAS a Pipe Dream

I knew several things I wasn’t gonna be a part of on the brink of college orientation: Medical School, Political Science—well, ANY of the sciences—and ironically Art School. The same reason encompassed all those prospects: MONEY. Funds I did not have. What average, low-income, middle-to-low-class kid does? Well…probably many, but not me. So you can imagine my surprise when I found an art school that DIDN’T cost me half my life.

The Oatley Academy. Ever heard of it? It’s made a great name for itself the past 5 years or so, but compared to the mainstream, it’s gained some steam. The business world of education seems a bit too scared to admit awareness of viable online competition—as they SHOULD—so the OA seems to be in that comfy place of not being overhyped but still famous enough to be talked about…a LOT. What school do you know of where people are talking about it AFTER leaving it or while hanging out with friends on a Saturday, enthusiastically talking about related homework? It’s THAT kinda place. Oh! And it’s solely online.

You might be askin’:

Who’s it for?

So, how expensive is this art school, for REAL?

Lemme tell you about my experience so far with taking OA’s intro course, the Magic Box.
